 Oat Straw: a tea with calcium!

While we mostly consume oats as a cereal grain, some of you may be familiar with the nutritional benefits of dried oat straw tea!

Oat straw contains a high content of iron, manganese, zinc, chromium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, niacin and calcium. Dried oat straw can also be used in a bath to relieve inflammatory skin issues.

This week our farmer friends at Rain and Grain farm in Estacada are sharing with us their harvest of oat straw, we hope you enjoy this wonderful herb!

Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes

This medley of heirloom cherry tomatoes makes for a colorful snack.

Summer Squash

Cook em on the grill, sauté them and add to tacos!

Potatoes

Eat them for breakfast, add them into a quiche or frittata! 

Green Apples (fresh eating)

Eat them fresh or make some sauce!
